put down用法解析

put down可以表示：

1.记下

Never put anything down on paper which might be used in evidence against you at a later date.

一定不要写下任何书面的东西，以免日后被用作对你不利的证据。

Please put down what he said.

请记下他的话。

2.付（定金）

He bought an investment property for $100,000 and put down $20,000.

他以10万美元买下一处投资性地产，并支付了2万美元的定金。

We've put down a 5% deposit on the house.

Up

朋友问你是否想做某事，这时你需要表示自己的意愿：

Express interest / eagerness: 表明兴趣 / 做…的热情

Up 的字面意思是“上”，up for sth 可以表示“我很感兴趣”，“很想做你提议的这件事”：

Are you up for it? 你想做这件事吗？Are you up for Thai food? 你想吃泰国菜吗？Are you up for a few beers? 你想喝两杯啤酒吗？Are you up for a movie? 你想看电影吗？Are you up for some karaoke? 你想唱卡拉OK吗？

另外也可以接动名词 up for doing sth，表示想做某事：

Are you up for watching a movie? 你想看电影吗？

回答这个问题时，一般人们会直接说：

Yes, that sounds great! 好啊，听起来很棒！

当然直接用这个句式回复也没错：

I'm up for it! 我想去！

在工作场合中有时也会听到：

Are you up for some overtime？ 你想加会儿班吗？

如果是老板问的，恐怕就别无选择啦。

Down

Down 的用法和 up 类似：

Are you down? 你愿意吗？Are you down for it? 你想做这件事吗？Are you down for something? 你想要点什么吗？

回答的时候：

I'm down. 我愿意。I'm down for something: 我想要…I'm down for Thai food: 我想吃泰国菜I'm down for a movie: 我想看电影I'm down to do something: 我想做…

外国人最常用这句话来回答：

I'm down for whatever. 好啊，都行。

down，下面、在……下面、向下、沿着，以down为前缀的单词也不少，其他的例子还有：downstream, downhill, downside, etc.

town，城镇、市镇，指的是那种人们工作和生活的地方，包含了很多房子、店铺、工作场所、娱乐场所的地方，通常比村庄大、比城市小。

包含town的单词还有：hometown, uptown, Chinatown, etc.

downtown，沿着路走进城镇，市中心的、在市中心的、朝着市中心的。

值得注意的是，downtown是美式英语的用法，英式英语中常常使用central, centrally。

此外，与downtown对应的是uptown，up是上，向上，和down是反义词。uptown是远离市中心的、向着城镇北部的（尤其是非商业区、非工业区的，至于为什么是北，上北下南大家都知道吧~）、向着市郊的。
