Beautiful though the exterior spot of West Lake is, the spot of island is even more beautiful.

西湖的外景虽美，但是岛景更美。

The spot of “Three Pools Mirroring the Moon" is one of the ten scenic spots in the West Lake.

“三潭印月”是西湖十景之一。

And it is known as "the first beautiful scenic spot in the West Lake".

它被誉为“西湖第一美景”。

That the reason this island is called “Three Pools Mirroring the Moon" is that there are three bottle-shaped stone towers in the pools on this island.

这个岛之所以叫“三潭印月”，是因为岛里谭中有三座瓶形石塔。

On the Mid-Autumn Festival night, the workers will come at the three towers by boat and light a candle in the center of each tower.

中秋之夜，园中的工人会乘船到达三个塔，并在每个塔中心点上一支蜡烛。

The circular hole gives off the light of the candle, which looks like the moon from a distance.

圆形的洞放出了蜡烛的光芒。远看像月亮一样。

Each stone tower has five holes, and the three stone towers can reflect fifteen images which just look like moons and its shadows in total, and one in the sky and its reflection on the ground, and the last one is the moon in your heart.

Add them up and there are eighteen moons in total.
