又一款历史模拟类黑马?

鲁定公十三年(公元前497年),时年已55岁的孔子在仕途上得罪了鲁国实权贵族“三桓”,而遭到强烈打压,被迫离职开始与弟子们周游列国,借以宣扬自己“仁政德治”和“克己复礼”的政治理念。孔子认为诸侯应该恢复周初礼制,共尊王室,重建君臣秩序。

遗憾的是,孔子的政治主张并未获得诸侯国君的认同,反而被郑人奚落如“丧家之犬”。

孔子理想中的周礼,即周朝所建立的一些列君臣制度、宗法制度、分封制度和礼乐制度等,维系着华夏社会的运转。可以说,周朝是我国历史上从奴隶社会迈入封建社会的一个重要的承上启下朝代,对后世封建王朝产生了深远影响。

周朝800年的历史舞台上,诞生了诸如烽火戏诸侯、卧薪尝胆、之好、围魏救赵、朝秦暮楚等耳熟能详的历史典故,适合改编游戏。

孔子在现实中没有实现的政治抱负,现在可以在游戏中实现了。1月5日,星岚造意开发的《大周列国志》正式上线。游戏上线后,在好游快爆上取得9分好评,在TapTap上获得8.9分高分,在一众策略游戏中属于难得一见的高分。

本着对历史模拟类游戏的偏爱,我下载了这款游戏体验,并采访到了游戏制作人土豆哥。

01

从超休闲转型

开发耗时三年

土豆哥算得上资深开发者了,他自2012年智能手机时代就开始做休闲游戏。长期做超休闲游戏/休闲游戏,土豆哥发现轻度游戏研发更偏数据导向,用他的话来说就是在“米粒上做微雕”。并且轻度游戏生命周期很短,需要不停地开发新项目,他感觉做轻度游戏已经遇上了瓶颈。

2019年,土豆哥与另外两位小伙伴一起创立了星岚造意,开始做历史游戏的前期概念设计,也就是后来的《大周列国志》。

星岚造意将游戏历史背景聚焦在先秦这一段。土豆哥认为先秦是奠定我们文化基因的重要时期,如果要搞清楚我们的文化起源,那么先秦一定是最好的节点。

土豆哥很快就发现,历史游戏的体量是过往小项目所承载不了的,于是团队逐步做加法,用了三年的时间把项目打磨至如今的规模。土豆哥告诉我,没有了小项目的种种束缚,开发起来感觉舒服多了。

在整个三年开发经历中,星岚造意遇到最大的困难还是缺乏对历史理解很深的开发者。“如果开发者对历史不理解不深入,就无法将历史故事化为游戏机制,那做出来的游戏就是浅尝辄止。”

资金方面星岚造意也遇到过困难,虽没有拿到融资,好在几位合伙人的努力下,最终也克服了这个困难。

那么研发三年的《大周列国志》会给玩家们带来如何的体验呢?

新手教程接近1小时

许久未见这么硬核的游戏了

商朝末年,商王帝辛筑千丈之台,兴长夜之饮。使商民终日宴乐,不务农事。

其靡费之资,役使之氓,皆取自方国。

......

水火既济,水承于火,初吉终乱。

白蛇在潜,玄鸟击殿,秦扫六合于庚辰。

《大周列国志》开篇动画以数百字精炼概述了从武王伐纣到秦扫六合这近千年历史,展现了游戏厚重的历史氛围。

但不得不说,《大周列国志》在手游中绝对算得上比较硬核的策略游戏,有一定上手门槛。这个门槛可以从共8小节、近一小时流程的新手教学中可见一斑。

游戏中除了钱粮、人口、正统、兵力、贤能等常规数值外,每一项大的数值根据时代背景还有一些细化。如人口数值,游戏中有更细化的庶民人口、生育率、奢靡度等指标。每个数值环环相扣,影响国家的治理发展。我粗略估算,游戏中应当有百余个数值,新手确有一定学习成本。

从UI你就能感受到上手门槛

虽然有些硬核,但我发现玩家对《大周列国志》是真喜欢。在TapTap评论中,甚至有玩家希望官方推出付费的剧本编辑器,方便玩家自我创作。而游戏的略显复杂的策略体系,多数玩家给出了正面评价,他们认为过往策略手游做了过多减法,让游戏更像是“兵推”,而不是真正经营一个国家。

游戏美术采用了类似山水画的风格,UI设计上增添了许多修饰性的祥云纹路,契合游戏整体氛围。不过游戏美术不能太细看,如人物立绘仔细一看面孔都几乎是一个模子出来的,看来开发组确实资金不太够。此外朝堂、计府等重要策略界面,背景CG图还是不够精致。

人物细看会发现面容真的都很像

在官方的建议下,我选择燕国开启春秋剧本。选择燕国原因也很简单,燕国地处北方边境,周围并无强国,且燕国国力本身并不弱,有大量战略腾挪的空间。

身为与周天子同宗的姬姓候国,燕国开场即有14城,麾下三军,且周围都是蛮夷部落。离燕国最近的一个中原霸主——齐国,中间也隔了好几个小国。燕国在北方基本属于一方霸主。

燕国这位置真好

点开国策,遍访贤良,推行农家策略,广积粮缓称王。我治理下的燕国经济上提升很快,开始盘算着四处扩张。实际上,在我屯粮之际周围夷狄已经开始以“我蛮夷也”的借口屡次出兵骚扰边境,同时宗主国周天子每岁会索取大量钱粮,让我头疼不已。

这时就要有“苦一苦百姓”的狠心,我调高了全国税率至泰半之税,并积极扩军备战。在我的“骚操作”下终于拳打代国,欺凌无终、长狄等蛮夷,迈出了春秋争霸的重要一步。

统一天下的重任还需玩家们自行深入体验,这里就不再详述。

目前来看,游戏付费点并不多,主要还是售卖抽卡道具和解锁剧本包,并不是那种卖数值的SLG游戏。我想这也是《大周列国志》口碑不错的一大原因。

另一方面,受限于小团队水平,《大周列国志》还是有不少硬伤,比如切换界面时的卡顿以及各种BUG,包括前文提及的人物立绘“千人一面”等等。好在开发团队承诺在后续更新中会慢慢优化。

03

中国历史模拟类游戏理应是国人强项

说来惭愧,目前做三国游戏最好的不是日本人(光荣)就是英国人(《全面战争:三国》开发商是英国公司)。

土豆哥也发现,中国历史模拟类游戏少有国内团队涉足,即使有也做得不够好,但理论上中国开发者是有先天优势的。

不过这两年我还是有欣喜地看到陆续有出色的历史模拟类游戏上线,如去年的黑马《无悔华夏》。在Steam上,融合《全面战争》与《欧陆风云》玩法的《国战》系列也有一定玩家群体,口碑还算不错。如果算上MOD,那么《欧陆风云4》的MOD“风云世纪两千年”也让国内玩家津津乐道。

但总体来看,市面上的历史模拟类游戏都是单机游戏,付费坑相对较浅。很难在畅销榜前列上看到这些游戏的身影。对于大厂而言,历史模拟类游戏既然盈利能力不强,自然也不是关注的重点。因此这类市场基本是让渡给中小团队。但受限于团队能力还有审核问题,国内开发者总是做不好历史模拟游戏。

而对于中小团队来说,做好游戏内容,打动玩家,就能抓住市场机会。土豆哥期望《大周列国志》上线后游戏机制能让玩家体验到,希望玩家能被带入这段历史时期。

在土豆哥的规划中,《大周列国志》后续将持续迭代,完善细化各个内容模块,让游戏更具乐趣。希望他们好运,历史模拟类游戏市场容得下多款佳作。
